Energy, connection and the secret of long nights

A Conversation with DJ about passion, audience and the power of regeneration

How did you get into DJing in the first place and what keeps you going after a night of sets?

I started in a small bar in my hometown. A good friend of mine was a DJ and he let me stand behind the decks a couple of times. From then on it just clicked - I started practicing at home, then playing small parties for friends. At first it was pure fun, but over time it became a real passion. What keeps me going after a long night? Definitely the energy from the audience. When you see people smiling, moving and connecting with the music, it recharges you. That connection keeps me going and makes me want to play even more.

Is there any performance you'll never forget?

There was definitely a summer festival where, in the middle of my set, it started pouring down like crystal. Normally you'd expect people to run for cover - but the exact opposite happened. The crowd totally came alive, everyone was rocking it even harder, the stage came alive in the rain and the atmosphere was electric. It was pure magic and I'll never forget it.

How do you keep your energy up when you're playing until sunrise?

The trick starts during the day - I try to conserve my energy, have something light to eat and get some rest before the show. At night, water and movement are key, but it's the contact with the audience that recharges me the most. Sometimes I'll have an Alcohol Killer - especially if I know I have to travel or play early in the morning. It helps me recover quickly without feeling heavy.

Do you have any rituals after a hard night?

When I finally get home, I need a moment of complete peace. A shower, a small meal, maybe some soft chill-out music - or sometimes complete silence. Just unplugging for a while and I can reset right away.

Being fresh during late night gigs is key. How does Alcohol Killer help you do that?

It's become my little backstage secret. Traditional energy drinks have never taken me - they're too heavy and full of sugar. Alcohol Killer is different. It helps me last through long nights and the best part is waking up in the morning without feeling wrecked. It's light, doesn't weigh down my stomach and works with me, not against me.

Do you have a favourite flavour or way of drinking it?

Always properly chilled, straight from the can. Citrus flavour is my choice - fresh, clean and most importantly it doesn't taste artificial.

Was there a moment when Alcohol Killer really saved you?

Yes, without a doubt. I had three shows in three cities in three nights in a row. By the third night, I was completely exhausted. After the set, I took Alcohol Killer, managed to get a few hours of sleep, and woke up surprised to find myself functioning completely normally. Without it, I would have been blown away.

If Alcohol Killer was a music genre, what would it be and why?

I'd say something between deep house and funk. It's got that steady groove - never too much, but always enough to keep the energy flowing. Just like Alcohol Killer - it doesn't work against you, but naturally goes with you.
