How to prepare for the MAXXIS BIKE Transalp extreme bike race with the help of ALIVER and ALCOHOL KILLER

Conversation with a cyclist

What made you participate in such a challenging mountain bike race "MAXXIS BIKE Transalp" ?

My long-time business partner knew that since my youth I have enjoyed following the Tour De France and cycling in general. He came up with the idea that we could participate in the Transalp race. From Austria to Italy, 500 km with 17,000 m of elevation gain. Quite a chore.

How did you prepare for this race?

I had to work on the physical side. It was a test of endurance and strong will, because it was my first race. But they were right when they said it was also an amazing experience full of "breathtaking views". In the end, we went out there to enjoy it and outdo ourselves.

What did you have to deal with in preparation?

With my ascetic physique, it was a question of how to conserve my energy so that the performance didn't eat me up inside. Of course, not to let the cramps stop me from reaching my goal as well. I've seen many finish prematurely - exhausted, sore or injured. Inattention or fatigue can easily lead to injury.

How did you resolve this?

I've arranged my training so that I can handle the tough stages of the race, the climbs, when I'll have to dig deep into my reserves and have a strong will to pedal on. I have consulted an expert on what I should do nutritionally as well.

What did your race day look like from a nutritional perspective?

On the bus that took us to the start, I had prepared a bottle of full spectrum electrolyte aliver with calcium as the main ingredient to keep my bones from calcifying during the run and at the finish line, a bottle of full spectrum electrolyte aliver with magnesium as the main ingredient was waiting for me. I had shots of ALCOHOL KILLER ready to go during the tough terrain, which gave me energy and soothed my stomach at the same time, which is the opposite with other sports gels.

What do you mean with full spectrum electrolytes? And Alcohol Killer? Isn't it just for alcohol withdrawal ?

I was caught off guard myself. But I learned and verified , that ultramarathoners or triathletes also use these shots. It is developed on holistic principles and works with our body. As for the "electrolytes" commonly available in the market, these basically contain only 4 minerals. But the complete electrolyte complex from the brand "aliver" contains up to 82 of them. As I learned myself, bones are made up of 12 essential minerals and 64 trace elements, so it makes sense that a person needs to supplement all of these electrolytes. These ensure that the parathyroid hormone doesn't start to decalcify the bones.

What has been your personal experience with this mineral complex?

I was pleasantly surprised that I had neither muscle soreness nor physical weakness during the race. Everything worked as it was explained to me. I would go so far as to say that I made it through the race with ease to the finish.

How did you like the MAXXIS BIKE Transalp race?

I participated in this race for the second time. I really experienced breathtaking views. Now I'm getting ready for the next race - the TransPyr C2C.
